1. Objectives:
The device is designed to show the dependence of the speed of a chemical reaction on the following conditions:
- Nature of the reacting substances.
- substance concentration.
- size of reacting substance contact surface.
- temperature.
- catalyst
- inhibitor.
2. The device consists of (pic 1)
- platform (1) with a scale (7) and 2 glass manometric tubes (6)
- two vessels of Landolt (2)
- device (3) for simultaneous turn of the 2 vessels of Landolt.
-four rubber plugs (4)
- with glass tubes
- two rubber (or plastic) hoses connecting manometric tubes and vessels of Landolt, both of the ends of manmetric tubes are widened.
Lower ones serve as a reservoir for the colored liquid when the tubes are filled; upper ones serve to prevent the liquid from spilling out of the tubes in case the liquid fills the tubes too fast.
